The Reception year marks most children’s very first step into formal schooling. This can be an exciting and nerve-wracking time for children and parents alike! Your child will start learning through play. They will be busy exploring, discovering, and listening to stories. They will be getting used to the school environment and learning to concentrate and listen to their teacher.  We are here to support you and your child every step of the way and have posted some useful information below. Your child will begin Reception the September after their 4th birthday. We have two vibrant and exciting classrooms and a very appealing outdoors space for the children. Play is at the heart of our curriculum and we use children natural desire to learn and expand their horizons to shape our day. We celebrate the Characteristics of Effective Learning that our pupils show in their day to day endeavours and use these aptitudes to plan next steps.

 Wrap Around Care 

Children in Reception can attend our school's breakfast club from 7:30am in the morning for 50p per day. In addition to this, they can also attend after school club, which is managed by Fun4Kids, as soon as the school day ends - this runs from 3pm-6pm.
