  • RISE Reception Network

We are delighted to announce that our school has been recognised by the Department for Education (DfE) as a Lead School within the RISE Reception Networks programme for the North West of England.

Reception networks form part of the government’s Best Start in Life strategy and the RISE universal offer, designed to support schools in enhancing the quality of their reception-year provision.

These networks are school-led and locally delivered, offering opportunities to share strong, evidence-informed approaches to reception practice.

Each network is guided by a Lead School, which has a proven record of excellence in early years education and leadership, and works to support other schools in the region.

Through the network, schools can benefit from:

    • Regular opportunities to discuss and reflect on reception-year practice with fellow practitioners
    • Visits and open days to observe high-quality reception provision in action
    • Access to shared resources and strategies that support effective reception teaching and leadership

Our Role as a Lead School

As a designated Lead School, we act as a regional hub of expertise for Reception provision in the North West. Our key responsibilities include:

    • Developing and sharing high-quality resources for Reception staff
    • Hosting half-termly virtual network meetings to encourage professional collaboration
    • Organising termly in-person visits and open days, giving schools the chance to observe practice and engage in professional dialogue

We also collaborate with national hubs to help maintain consistency and quality across early years provision.
