Important Information
PE (Physical Education) is a compulsory subject of the National Curriclum, at Rimrose Hope we support, promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle and deem this subject area extremely important, therefore we ask that you ensure that your child has a full PE kit each week (white polo shirt, maroon shorts and black pumps- please ensure that each PE garment is clearly labelled in pen with your child's name).
5/6 H- Swimming Monday pm PE Thursday
5C PE Thursday pm and 6W- PE Wednesday pm
Home Readers
We have a reward system in each of the Year 5 and 6 classrooms whereby when the children return their home reading book with their planner signed they receive an Epraise point on the whole school online reward system. We encourage the children to read 4+ times per week. It is essential that you listen to your child read daily at home as past experience has shown that children who read at home daily make the most progress with their reading.
Homework
It is an expectation that children read their home reading book regularly and their planner is returned daily. The children will also be given Maths homework each Friday returning on Wednesday. Parents and carers will be provided with your child's target at upcoming parents' evening.. In addition to reading and Maths homework the children will also be given spellings to learn weekly at home and will be tested in school the following week. It is important that you help and support your child working towards achieving their targets. If you are unsure how you can support your child please do not hesitat to speak to your child's class teacher.
Year 6 SATS
What are SATs?
SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) are given at the end of year 2, 6 and 9. The tests in year 6 are more formal than in year 2 as the tests have to be sat on a specific day and are sent off to be externally marked. School will report levels to parents in their child's end of year report.
Please find additional information for KS2 testing following the links below
