Welcome to Rose 1 Class
Hope you enjoy looking at lots of photographs that show all of the fantastic things that your wonderful children have been doing this year in and out of class. The trips out each week have proved to be so beneficial with the children learning so much outside of the classroom.
SO SORRY FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHS BEING THE WRONG WAY BUT WE ARE WORKING ON IT!!
Science
The children have been learning all about humans and animals as part of their science topic. Mr Allday brought some animals from his farm into school and the children discovered the difference between omnivores, herbivores and carnivores. They also learnt how to care for animals. We will also be visiting Acorn Animal Farm and Knowsley Safari Park in May to take a closer look at more amazing animals!
Mathematics
Rose 1 enjoy using a variety of apparatus to help with their maths work and they work well as part of a team!
English
The children really enjoyed making jam sandwiches as part of work on instructional writing. Afterwards, they all wrote a set of clear instructions for 'How to make a jam sandwich'. The best bit was eating them!
Educational Visits
Rose 1 have enjoyed the wonderful opportunities to experience the curriculum outside of the classroom and have visited so many exciting and interesting places. They have visited museums, art galleries, parks, workshops to name but a few.
Apple Store
The children designed their own Christmas using ipads.
The Beatles Story
Bubbles World
As an end of term treat for all their hard work the children had an exhausting day at Bubbles World where they slid, climbed and laughed all day!
Build-a-Bear
Our PTFA very kindly made a donation to allow our children to visit Build-A-Bear before Christmas. What a lovely treat! We then went off to Otterspool Promenade for a Teddies Bear Picnic.
Delamere Forest
We went in search of the Gruffalo deep into the woods and look what we found on the way!
Jungle Rumble
Rose 1 tried their hand at golf in Liverpool One and had to cope with some tricky shots!
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Schools Concert
The children were treated to a live performance at the Philharmonic Hall to hear all of the different instruments that make up each section of an orchestra. It was a wonderful experience for them all.
Liverpool World Museum
Rose 1 visited the Liverpool World Museum and explored all of the wonderful sections as part of our science work.
Loggerheads Country Park
We had a wonderful day in North Wales enjoying the outdoor environment.
The Maritime Museum
Rose 1 Class learnt about the history of the Titanic as well as many other interesting facts about maritime history and the slave trade.
Martin Mere
As part of our science curriculum we visited Martin Mere to learn about animals in their environment, adaptation and had a go at pond dipping. The children really enjoyed the experience and were a credit to themselves and school, being so polite and well-behaved that the 2 learning sessions were extended by staff who were so delighted with how well the children listened, asked questions and joined in with all of the activities.
Norton Priory
Our children visited Norton Priory and visited the Herb Garden before making their own soap mixed with herbs and then made their own mosaic tile to their own design. The children were praised for their behaviour and hard work.
Pizza Express
Rose 1 visited Pizza Express in the Albert Dock and became their own Masterchefs!
Riverside Bowling. Black Pearl Pirate Ship and Vale Park
We enjoyed a morning of bowling before exploring the Black Pearl Pirate Ship and looking for fairies in Vale Park. What a busy day!

We visited the gallery to see some famous Lowry paintings as part of our Art topic in school.
Wirral Transport Museum
Rose 1 had a fantastic day learning about transport from the past as part of Road Safety Week and rode on a real tram, not once but twice, because they were so polite and respectful during the visit.
