Nursery News Summer term 2016

Nursery  Spring term 2016

A warm welcome to our new children who all look super smart in their school uniform. This term our topics include traditional tales, Chinese New Year and Easter. Key stories for this term are: Goldilocks and the three Bears, The three little Pigs, Three Billy Goats Gruff,  Hansel and Gretel.

The children will continue to help prepare their own snack linked to our topics. On the menu this term are bear biscuits, pig cakes, a gingerbread house and Chinese stir fry. The children will also be going into the hall for P.E sessions. This terms focus will be on travelling in different ways and increasing the heart rate through fun games and challenges.

Thank you for helping your child complete their home tasks last term. The response was so good there will be more home learning to come.smiley

Last term the children starting school in September worked hard in their key worker groups on rhyming and counting activities. This term we will be focusing on blending and segmenting sounds in words,  also recognising numbers 1-5. The children will be developing their pencil control with a view to writing their name. Our younger nursery children will be learning nursery rhymes, colours, exploring shape and size.
