Welcome to our class page.
It is great to have the children back at school - it certainly wasn't as much fun without them! I hope you enjoy seeing what we have been up to, Mrs Stott 😊
RE - Marriage 💖
We investigated traditions and celebrations linked to marriage. One of our activities was to take part in a traditional Christian wedding. Here are some of the official photographs of the happy event.
Christmas 2020
We enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner, in our festive attire 🎄❤️
Science
As part of our science topic, we investigated Darwin’s theory of natural selection. In our talking trios we planned how we could find out how different beaks help or hinder birds survival. We made observations about how beaks would have to adapt for the species to survive. The experiment was fun however the smell of the sardines wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea!
RAF gliders challenge event
We took part in a livestream event, run by STEM and the Royal Air Force. Our challenge was to design and build 3 gliders. We tested the gliders to see which team designed the plane that would travel the furthest. We have some budding engineers in the class, as well as some very competitive children!
DT day
Steph came to work with us to make celebration lights. We looked at existing products, designed, made and evaluated our products. We developed new skills in building electrical circuits and manipulating cardboard into different structures.
Dance
We really enjoyed our dance lessons with Mrs Hardman this term. The theme was Africa, to link to our Geography topic.
Art
In Art, we have looked at African masks. We practised using watercolours and pastels to add tone to our work.
R.E.
We investigated the Bible as a book of books. During the topic we compared stories and people from the Bible, looked at the different genres within the Bible and linked the messages to our lives today. We used everything we found out to write non-chronological reports about the Bible.
Computing
We are architects. After doing virtual tours of art galleries, we designed our own gallery using Sketch Up.
