Welcome to 3/4 MR
This is where all the wonderful work the children in class will be celebrated.
Inspired by Van Gogh
During Art this term, the children have been looking at the work of Vincent Van Gogh. They have researched his life and his work and created fact file pages, analysed and critiqued his work looking at the style and technique. The children developed their own basic skills, building up to creating a piece of work in the style of Vincent Van Gogh. As part of our Liverpool Landmarks topic, the children designed a ‘Starry Night’ backdrop and selected their own Liverpool Landmark to collage in the style of Van Gogh.
How Cool is Liverpool?
During our topic lessons this half term we have been looking at our very own city of Liverpool and finding out what an amazing place it is. We have researched famous landmarks ,created superb non chronological reports about this very special place as well as messy maps places those landmarks on a map.
Black History Week
For our History work this term we have been working on chronology though the life and achievements of Katherine Johnson and Mae Jemison. We have investigated the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s and how this impacted on the lives of these two very special women. The children used words such as decade, century, chronology and timeline. At the end of the topic, their final piece was to create their own timeline from the key events the have researched. The children even added reflections of how people felt at the time. Below are some examples of the work.
This term our DT topic was traditional tale and they had to create a traditional tales character with a hydraulics mechanism. The had to create a plan and then bring this image to life using cardboard and a syringe. Below are some of the final products. How amazing are they!
