The Great Get Together: Building bridges

On Friday 15th June, Rimrose Hope opened its doors to allow parents to come in and have a cake and a cuppa while looking at some of the fabulous project work Year 3/4 have done for Design and Technology week. Above you can see some of the potential Isambard Kingdon Brunels we have in 3/4M!!!

For our D&T challenge, the 3/4 classes had to make marble runs that would feature a bridge. We looked at the importance of bridges and what they are made out of before working as groups to complete the challenge task. Here are some of the pictures from the week below.

Some of the images of Year 3/4 trip to Speke Hall where we learned a lot about life during Tudor times. The lovely and informative guides gave us a tour of the house and its splendid grounds before being shown how the (more important!) boys and (less important) girls would have dressed, how they would eat meals and what education they received.

van Gogh art - 3/4M work in progress

Our art topic this term looks at the works of Dutch post-impressionist Vincent van Gogh. We studied some of his most famous pieces, comparing themes and expressing the emotions that the children feel when looking at a van Gogh landscape. The class then began to practise imitating his unique style.

Some of our class' fantastic creation designs, inspired by the story of Noah and his Ark.
